Winter skin

My skin has always been sort of dry – but when summer began, I started to get dry patches in two places on my face, weirdly only on one cheek and one side of the chin.

This dry patch would not budge, I tried Khiels ultra-facial, Avene recovery cream, Nivea, E45, La Roche Posay cream and Cicaplast baume B5– NOTHING worked, I still ended up with flaky skin after two hours.

But then I realised a certain foundation (Bobbi Brown serum) was the cause of this monstrosity, so of course I stopped using it. My skin started to recover and life was on track again, but I was still paranoid, I just wanted that dew.

So let’s go back to the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 – usually I would mix my foundation with any moisturiser, (mostly avene recovery). But this time I thought, I have invested so much in all of these let me just start using them up.

Low and behold…the lightest, creamiest, most perfect consistency was born with the coupling of my daily true match foundation (which is very drying) and La Roche Posay balm.

The cream/balm can be used multiple times a day, for acne, cuts, scars, dryness – anything. It’s even kid friendly so you know its gentle.

Surprisingly, it doesn’t really take away the coverage of the foundation as other moisturisers do. It creates a beautifully textured formula which gives you a dewy glow as well as keeping your face moisturised.

Not only does it keep your skin looking hydrated, it also ensures you use less foundation aka spend less money, win-win. This is especially because it is quite a rich texture, so a little bit of it goes a long way.

Ps: Khiels ultra facial moisturiser did not do anything for my skin – also because of the SPF you must wash it off before bed, so you’re better off using a foundation with SPF rather than a moisturiser. But das jus me x
